Gwadar (Republic Pk) Pakistan’s Maritime Sector and National Logistics Corporation (NLC) have completed the first successful bunkering operation at Gwadar Port in collaboration with global energy company Vitol, during which 2,500 metric tons of IMO compliant Very Low Sulfur Fuel Oil (VLSFO) was supplied to the UAE-owned LNG ship ENUGU.
Official sources told Pak Report that this premium marine fuel was produced by Pakistan’s local refinery Cnergyico PK Limited, which demonstrates the country’s ability to produce marine fuel according to international standards.
Industry experts say that this will not only benefit the local economy but will also significantly increase Pakistan’s blue economy prospects. The success of this operation has highlighted Gwadar Port as a reliable and strategic bunkering location for international ships.
According to experts, this development will open new routes for global maritime trade and help make Pakistan’s ports a regional hub.
