Peshawar (Republic Pk) The identity card of a petitioner named Quaid-e-Azam was blocked, against which the Peshawar High Court stayed his deportation to Afghanistan and directed him to appear before the NADRA Verification Board on a writ petition.
According to the details, the writ petition was heard by a two-member bench of the Peshawar High Court comprising Justice Waqar Ahmed and Justice Inamullah Khan, during which the petitioner’s lawyer told the court that his client is a businessman who does business in Pakistan and Dubai, his identity card was blocked even though he is a Pakistani citizen and is running his own business.
Assistant Director Legal NADRA Shahid Imran Gigyani told the court that we have submitted the response and it contains a report that the petitioner’s identity card is suspicious.
The petitioner’s lawyer told the court that his client is being asked by NADRA to bring his uncle, he is paying business tax to the government, now he is being harassed, his identity card has been blocked while other members of his family have Pakistani identity cards.
After the arguments were completed, the court ordered the petitioner to appear before the NADRA Verification Board, while the administration issued an order not to deport him till then.
