Ajmal Jami Points Out Major Error in 27th Constitutional Amendment
In his vlog on @ajmaljamiofficial, journalist Ajmal Jami commented on the challenges surrounding the 27th Constitutional Amendment. He explained that during the amendment process, lawmakers hurriedly omitted a crucial reference in Article 6 — failing to include the newly proposed constitutional court alongside the Supreme Court.
According to Jami, the National Assembly later corrected the omission, but the Senate did not complete the correction, leaving the amendment in limbo. He described this as the “biggest blunder” of the process.
Jami further noted that when the amendment returns to the Senate, complications may arise. Senator Saifullah Abro had already announced his resignation after casting his vote, Senator Irfan Siddiqui has passed away, and uncertainty remains about the participation of JUI senators.
His remarks underscore the fragile state of the amendment’s progress and the political complexities that could delay its passage.
