Nation Remembers APS Martyrs on 11th Anniversary
Remembering the Martyrs
On December 16, 2014, terrorists stormed APS Peshawar, killing 147 people — most of them schoolchildren. Eleven years later, the nation continues to mourn and honour their sacrifice.
President’s Message
President Asif Ali Zardari said the APS martyrs remain a solemn reminder of the heavy price Pakistan has paid in its fight against terrorism. He stressed there can be no negotiations with those who raise arms against the state or target children.
He condemned Indian‑sponsored terrorism, vowing Pakistan will expose hostile activities and defend its people with full resolve. He also paid tribute to security forces and intelligence agencies whose efforts have prevented further tragedies.
Prime Minister’s Statement
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif saluted the martyrs and their families, reaffirming a zero‑tolerance stance on terrorism. He said the sacrifices of APS children, teachers, and staff will never be forgotten, and meaningful justice lies only in eliminating terrorism from Pakistan.
PM emphasized that the tragedy had failed to break the nation’s resolve, and that today Pakistan stands united with the state, institutions and people against extremism.
National Resolve
Both leaders highlighted that the APS tragedy continues to strengthen Pakistan’s determination to eradicate terrorism. The resilience of APS families, who transformed grief into strength, remains a source of inspiration for the nation.
