Islamabad: Rifat Ara Alvi, the mother of martyred journalist Arshad Sharif, has passed away. The news has been met with deep sorrow across the country, with tributes pouring in for her strength and legacy.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi expressed his condolences, describing her as a brave and noble mother who raised a son committed to truth and journalistic integrity.
He said that Arshad Sharif, remembered as a fearless and principled journalist, remains a source of pride for the nation. “Her son’s sacrifice will be written in golden letters in the history of journalism, and the nation will always remember both Arshad Sharif and his great mother,” the Chief Minister remarked.
Afridi also prayed for the departed soul to be granted the highest ranks and for the bereaved family to find patience and strength in this difficult time.
