PTI: Bushra Taskeen ‘Launched’ to Distract Amendment Debate

Lahore: In a recent episode of Jawab Do, hosted by Farrukh Warraich, PTI lawyer Naeem Haider Panjuthha criticized journalist Bushra Taskeen’s frequent media appearances. He argued that her involvement in a report alleging former First Lady Bushra Bibi’s role in government affairs during Imran Khan’s premiership appears to be part of a broader attempt to divert public focus from the ongoing debate over the 27th constitutional amendment.

Panjuthha suggested that Taskeen’s presence across multiple programs is not coincidental, but rather a deliberate effort to dominate airtime and shift the narrative. He compared the situation to earlier media coverage of Khawar Maneka, who was also prominently featured in interviews on sensitive issues such as iddat.

According to PTI’s perspective, Taskeen is allegedly linked to the PMLN, which they claim explains her role in amplifying the report against Bushra Bibi. The discussion highlighted concerns about how certain journalists and reports are “launched” into the spotlight during politically charged moments, raising questions about media strategy and political influence.

The debate reflects the heightened tensions surrounding the 27th amendment, with opposition voices warning that public discourse is being steered away from constitutional issues toward personal controversies.
