Pak Army Repels Cross-Border Assault in Chaman, Dozens of Militants Neutralized

QUETTA, Oct 15 — The Pakistan Army thwarted multiple coordinated attacks launched by Afghan Taliban and Khwarij militants at three different locations in Chaman’s Spin Boldak area early Tuesday morning, security sources confirmed.

According to the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP), the swift and effective response by Pakistani troops resulted in the killing of around 15 to 20 terrorists. The militants, who attempted to infiltrate using nearby villages as cover, were forced to retreat after facing heavy retaliation. Officials noted that the attackers had been using innocent civilians as human shields, a tactic strongly condemned by security authorities.

In a significant escalation, the militants also blew up the Pak-Afghan Friendship Gate from their side of the border. Security officials said the act demonstrated the group’s opposition to peaceful trade and cross-border movement between the two countries.

The clashes were not limited to Chaman. Security sources revealed that the Pakistan Army had also foiled an attempted attack in the Kurram sector the previous night. During the retaliatory operation, eight Taliban posts and six armored vehicles were destroyed, while several militants were killed. Troops also seized a cache of American-made weapons from the attackers.

Following the strong military response, the situation in the Kurram sector has stabilized, though intelligence reports suggest that more Afghan Taliban and Khwarij fighters are regrouping in Spin Boldak.

Officials reiterated that Pakistan’s armed forces remain fully prepared to defend the country’s borders and ensure the safety of civilians in the region.
