Cyber Crime Officer Missing After Probing Cases Allegedly Linked to Ducky Bhai
Islamabad: Deputy Director Muhammad Usman of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has not been recovered even after 10 days of disappearance. The Islamabad High Court, during a recent hearing, expressed concern over the lack of progress and gave police one more week to trace him.
Justice Azam Khan, who presided over the hearing, said the purpose of the proceedings was to resolve the matter rather than extend it with repeated dates. The court also directed investigators to examine the WhatsApp data of the missing officer for possible leads.
During the proceedings, it was revealed that Usman’s wife, Rozina, who had filed a petition regarding his disappearance, is also missing. Her phone was last active in Lahore before being switched off, and her residence was later found locked. Neighbors confirmed she had left with her children.
Officials informed the court that Usman had been working on sensitive cybercrime cases. Among them were inquiries that allegedly involved online gambling activities and drew public attention because the name of Ducky Bhai (Saad Ur Rehman), a well‑known Pakistani YouTuber, surfaced in discussions. Authorities, however, have not confirmed any wrongdoing, and no charges have been filed against him.
The court was further told that other individuals connected to the same line of investigation are also unaccounted for. Police confirmed that Usman’s last known location was in Islamabad’s F‑6 sector, where CCTV footage has already been reviewed.
Lawyer Rizwan Abbasi, representing the petitioner, said Rozina had received threatening calls urging her to withdraw her petition. Justice Azam Khan noted that while she may have gone to stay with relatives, the circumstances of her disappearance remain troubling.
The hearing was adjourned until October 31, with the court granting police one week to show progress in recovering both the missing officer and his wife.
