“This Politics Is Ruthless”: Azaz Syed on Irfan Siddiqui Death Rumor
In his digital program on TalkShockOfficial, senior journalist Azaz Syed claimed that a false report regarding the death of Senator Irfan Siddiqui was deliberately spread in the Senate.
According to Syed, a senator privately told him that Siddiqui had passed away and urged him to break the news. He explained that parliamentary tradition requires Senate proceedings to be suspended in the event of a member’s death, which would have temporarily halted debate on a constitutional amendment.
Syed said he initially rejected the claim, noting that he had recently spoken with Siddiqui’s son. However, the senator insisted that even the family had been restricted from clarifying the situation. When Syed met the same senator the following day, he was reminded of the previous claim, prompting him to remark that “politics can be very ruthless.”
The allegation underscores the tense atmosphere in the Senate, where misinformation and political maneuvering can directly impact legislative processes.
