HBL PSL 2026 to Start March 26, Final Scheduled for May 3
Roadshow Announcement
Following successful events in England, the HBL PSL roadshow was held in New York for the first time. The event aimed to attract international investors ahead of the January 8 auction for two new PSL teams.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi confirmed the league schedule, declaring March 26 as the opening date and May 3 as the final. He emphasized his ambition to make PSL the “number one league in the world.”
Venues and Expansion
This season, Faisalabad will host 11 matches, marking its debut as a PSL venue. Karachi’s National Stadium will undergo redevelopment, while plans are underway to revive Muzaffarabad and Hyderabad stadiums.
Participation and Diplomacy
The roadshow was attended by Mohsin Naqvi, T20 captain Salman Ali Agha, players Saeem Ayub, Abrar Ahmed, Faheem Ashraf, Saud Shakeel, Shan Masood, and former captains Wasim Akram and Ramiz Raja. Pakistan’s ambassador to the US, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, highlighted sports as a bridge for diplomacy and cultural identity.
Players’ Perspective
National cricketers shared their experiences of PSL, stressing its importance for young talent. Wasim Akram and Ramiz Raja reiterated that PSL remains the best platform for emerging players to showcase their skills.
