IBSF Snooker: Pakistan’s Run Ends, India’s Advani Out Early

Doha, Qatar: Pakistan’s campaign at the IBSF World Snooker Championship concluded on the fifth day of the tournament, with all national players knocked out following quarterfinal defeats.

Three-time world champion Mohammad Asif, who entered the event as the defending titleholder, lost a tightly contested match to Poland’s Michael Szubrczy. The match ended 3–4 in favor of the Polish player, despite Asif’s earlier victory over Iran’s seasoned cueist Amir Sarkosh in the pre-quarterfinals.

Asjad Iqbal also exited the tournament after a 1–4 loss to England’s Harvey Chandler in the quarterfinals. Iqbal had previously defeated Hong Kong’s Chow Hon-man with a convincing 4–1 scoreline.

Pakistan’s under-17 world champions, Mohammad Hasnain Akhtar and Shahid Iqbal, had already been eliminated earlier in the competition.

India’s top contender and former world champion Pingu Advani was also knocked out in the first round, marking a surprising early exit for one of the tournament’s most recognized names.

The IBSF Championship in Doha has seen intense competition and unexpected outcomes, with several top-ranked players falling short of expectations.
