Political analyst Najam Sethi has claimed that “Sohail Afridi,” the nominee for Chief Minister in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), faces a complete rejection from both the federal government and the military’s top command. Sethi made the comments on a SAMA TV program while discussing the potential leadership change in the province.
According to Sethi, the nominee’s uncooperative stance is the primary issue. “Sohail will not cooperate under any circumstances,” Sethi stated. “That is why the federal government has clearly said that they will not let him remain [in the position].”
He added that the leadership shares this view, noting, “neither have the Corps Commanders shown any willingness to accept him.”
Sethi emphasized that the military command has been very direct in its opposition. “Very unequivocal statements are coming from them that we will not accept a person of this type who has been nominated by Imran Khan,” he concluded.
