Former Pakistan national team all-rounder Imad Wasim has officially announced his decision to end his six-year marriage with Sania Ashfaq. The 37-year-old cricketer shared the development through an official statement on his social media account on Sunday, confirming that he has formally filed for divorce.
Unresolved Conflicts and Legal Filing
In his statement, Imad Wasim revealed that the decision came after a prolonged period of reflection. He noted that despite efforts to reconcile, “repeated conflicts” over the past few years remained unresolved, leading him to take the legal step toward separation. The couple, who wed in 2019, have three children together.
Request for Privacy and Media Ethics
The former cricketer emphasized the need for privacy during this personal transition. He issued a specific request to the public and media outlets to refrain from sharing or using old photographs of the couple. Furthermore, he requested that Sania no longer be referred to as his spouse in future media coverage.
