Denied Again: Imran Khan’s Sisters Stage Adiala Jail Sit‑In

SitIn Outside Adiala Jail

Imran Khan’s sisters, including Aleema Khan, along with PTI workers staged a sitin outside Adiala Jail after being denied a meeting with the PTI founder. The protest drew attention to repeated restrictions placed on family visits, with participants vowing to remain outside the prison until access was granted.

Aleema Khan’s Remarks

Speaking to media at Adiala Road Factory Naka, Aleema Khan questioned why family meetings were consistently blocked. She said: “If discussion about the army chief took place, what is the issue? If today again we are denied, we will continue to sit here.” She emphasized that Khan’s demands were for restoration of the constitution, democracy, and rule of law, while also highlighting issues such as unemployment caused by Afghan trade closures and the sidelining of the judiciary.

Noreen Niazi’s Statement

PTI leader Noreen Niazi joined Aleema Khan in condemning police action. She said PTI is a peaceful party and not terrorists, criticizing Punjab Police for using water cannons against protesters and calling them “terrorist police.” She stressed that the protest was lawful and peaceful.

Wider Support from PTI

Lawyer Naeem Haider Panjutha demanded that Khan’s sisters and legal team be allowed to meet him. Punjab Assembly member Moeen Riaz Qureshi expressed solidarity, saying: “Imran Khan’s sisters are like our own mothers and sisters. We are heading to Adiala Jail in support.”

Protest Continues

Aleema Khan reiterated that the family was prepared to stay outside the jail peacefully, even bringing blankets to endure the cold. She vowed: “Whatever it takes for Khan’s release, we will do it. Against this unjust detention and oppression, we stand firm.”
