Indian CRPF Officer Charged for Leaking Secrets to Pakistan

New Delhi: India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a chargesheet against a dismissed Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel accused of leaking sensitive information to Pakistani intelligence operatives in exchange for money.

According to The Print, the accused, Moti Ram Jat, was arrested after investigators reportedly found evidence on his phone suggesting communication with suspicious accounts. He was immediately dismissed from service before being handed over to the NIA.

The chargesheet was submitted at Delhi’s Patiala House Court on Friday under multiple provisions, including the stringent Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

The case has raised questions about internal vulnerabilities within India’s security forces, as the alleged leak of sensitive information to Pakistan underscores weaknesses in safeguarding classified material.

Analysts note that such incidents highlight how Pakistan continues to be a central factor in India’s security narrative, despite New Delhi’s repeated claims of strong counter‑intelligence measures.
