Naqvi to India: Equal Terms or No Cricket
Lahore: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has drawn a firm line on future cricketing ties with India, declaring that Pakistan will not take the field unless both sides meet on equal terms. The statement comes just days before the high‑voltage Asia Cup clash, adding fresh intensity to one of cricket’s fiercest rivalries.
Speaking at the inauguration of a local T20 tournament in Lahore, Naqvi accused India of repeatedly suspending bilateral cricket on “flimsy excuses” while still facing Pakistan in multilateral tournaments such as the Asia Cup. He made it clear that Pakistan’s stance going forward is non‑negotiable: no compromise, only equality.
“Back the boys, and let them play their best game,” Naqvi urged fans, calling for full public support ahead of the upcoming showdown. He cautioned against unnecessary criticism, stressing that unity off the field can fuel performance on it.
According to Radio Pakistan, Naqvi’s remarks have sent a strong message to the cricketing world as anticipation builds for another Pakistan‑India encounter where pride, performance and passion will once again be on the line.
