Lakki Marwat
Security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa carried out two major counter‑terrorism operations, killing 13 militants said to be associated with foreign‑backed networks. The Inter‑Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed the actions in a statement issued on Friday.
The first operation was conducted in Paharkhel area of Lakki Marwat, following intelligence reports of militant presence. A heavy exchange of fire ensued, resulting in the deaths of 10 militants. Authorities later cleared the area and recovered weapons and ammunition.
Second Operation in Dera Ismail Khan
Acting on separate intelligence, security forces launched another operation in Dera Ismail Khan, where three more militants were killed. ISPR noted that those eliminated were involved in attacks on security personnel, law enforcement agencies, and civilians, including incidents of targeted killings.
Ongoing Sanitization Efforts
ISPR added that sanitization operations are continuing in both regions to ensure that no hideouts remain. The military emphasized that under Operation Azm‑e‑Istihkam, security forces and law enforcement agencies are intensifying efforts nationwide to eradicate terrorism and restore lasting peace.
