KFUEIT Marks World Food Day with Walk, Seminar, and Food Expo

RAHIM YAR KHAN—Various events were organized at Khwaja Fareed University of Engineering and Information Technology (KFUEIT), Rahim Yar Khan, on the occasion of World Food Day. The events, held under the auspices of the Institute of Food Sciences, included an awareness walk, a seminar, and an exhibition of food items made from healthy ingredients.

The events were formally inaugurated by Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shehzad Murtaza, along with Dr. Muhammad Sagir (Dean of All Faculties), Dr. Farhan Chughtai (Director, Institute of Food Sciences), and other faculty members.

During the exhibition, students prepared and displayed a variety of dishes on their stalls, including egg-based pizzas, protein-enriched biscuits, and both Pakistani and international dishes. A large number of students from other university departments also attended the flavourful event, appreciating the efforts of the participants.

A panel of judges visited all the stalls, inquired about the ingredients, checked the quality and taste of the dishes, and subsequently distributed awards among the position-holding students.

Earlier, a seminar was also held where officials from the Food Department and expert nutritionists delivered speeches and highlighted the significance of World Food Day.

In his special message on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Aamir Azam Khan said that today is a day to pledge that ‘we must take every possible measure to eliminate food scarcity from the country.’ He added that Khwaja Fareed University’s Institute of Food Sciences is actively supporting students in understanding the importance of food, its preservation, and enhancing its quality.
