KFUEIT UNITE to End Digital Violence Against Women and Girls
Rahim Yar Khan: Khawaja Fareed University of Engineering and Information Technology (KFUEIT), in collaboration with the Women Development Department (WDD), Government of Punjab, has launched the global “16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence” campaign under the theme “UNITE to End Digital Violence Against Women and Girls.” The campaign, running from November 25 to December 10, 2025, aims to raise awareness about online harassment and empower women and girls to protect themselves against digital abuse.
The initiative commenced with a Solidarity Walk, starting from the Civil Building and concluding at the Vice Chancellor Secretariat, where students carried anti-violence banners, demonstrating their commitment to ending gender-based violence. Following the walk, an Awareness Seminar featured distinguished speakers, including Ms. Arisha Aziz (Ambassador for Change, FOSPAH), Dr. Urooj Burhan (Assistant Professor, Sheikh Zayed Medical College), Mr. Zahid Khan Bangash (Former President, District Bar Association, RYK), Ms. Fatima Binte Tahir (Area Sales Manager, Nestlé Professional), and Mr. Suraj Kumar (Assistant Director, Environment, RYK). The speakers highlighted the growing concerns of harassment and abuse faced by women online and encouraged students to speak up, report incidents, and pursue legal measures against perpetrators.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Aamir Azam Khan, in his special message, strongly condemned all forms of violence against women and emphasized that such behaviour is unacceptable under any circumstances. He affirmed that KFUEIT not only advocates for gender equality and the rights of women but also stresses ethical conduct and character-building in digital media usage. Dr. Sidra Ghazanfar, Advisor to the Women Development Society, welcomed the guests, while Dr. Aslam Khan, Dr. Majid Rasheed, faculty members, and staff were also in attendance. The campaign’s primary goal is to create awareness about gender-based violence, especially digital abuse, and inspire meaningful societal change to protect women and girls.
