KP CM Announces Major Nutrition Budget Boost, Vows Equal Justice System

  • KP provides 100% free healthcare coverage.
  • Fight launched against dual justice systems.
  • Significant budget increase planned for nutrition.

The fundamental requirement for true nation-building, according to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, is the establishment of a unified system of law and justice where the rules apply equally to both the wealthy elite and the common citizen. Addressing the Pakistan Medical Association’s (PMA) two-day health awareness conference, the CM asserted that systems built on oppression and fascism only manage to construct physical infrastructure like roads, rather than developing cohesive and just societies.

He emphasized that the current political movement, which he stated began with Imran Khan, is focused entirely on achieving this goal: dismantling separate, preferential justice systems. This ideology underpins the ongoing struggle to realize the foundational vision of a strong welfare state, as conceptualized by Allama Iqbal and Quaid-e-Azam. The CM linked this grand societal transformation to individual ethics, stressing that deviation from one’s duty or responsibility must also be categorized as corruption. He argued that effective change demands collective action and a shared sense of responsibility, as the system cannot be transformed by the government alone.

Demonstrating his administration’s commitment to public welfare, the CM highlighted that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa remains the sole province in the country currently providing 100 percent free medical coverage to its entire population. This policy, which links directly to public well-being, stands in sharp contrast to the situation in neighboring Punjab, where the free treatment program initially launched under the previous administration has reportedly been terminated. Both health and education, the CM added, are non-negotiable priority sectors for investment.

Looking ahead, the provincial government confirmed that the upcoming annual budget will allocate substantially increased financial resources specifically toward the nutrition sector. This strategic focus is intended to further solidify the province’s commitment to comprehensive public health. Finally, the Chief Minister paid tribute to Dr. Yasmin Rashid, acknowledging her exemplary bravery and steadfast resilience in facing political adversity. He remarked that Dr. Rashid had already fought her share of the political battle and is now courageously fighting on behalf of the entire movement.
