Mustafa Nawaz Calls Judges’ Resignations a ‘Breath of Fresh Air’

Islamabad: Former senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar has described the resignations of Supreme Court judges Mansoor Ali Shah and Athar Minallah as a bold and positive development for Pakistan.

In a statement shared on his social media account, Khokhar said that at a time when compromises of conscience are common and subservience is often worn as a badge of honor, the judges’ choice to step down for the sake of the constitution and principles is like a “breath of fresh air.”

He emphasized that rejecting positions and privileges in favor of integrity sends a powerful message, especially in an environment where institutional credibility is under scrutiny.

Khokhar’s remarks add to the growing chorus of political and public reactions to the judges’ resignations, which are being seen as a significant moment in Pakistan’s judicial and constitutional debate.
