The Inter‑Services Public Relations (ISPR) has confirmed that Pakistani security forces killed at least nine militants in two separate intelligence‑based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The operations were conducted in Tanak and Lakki Marwat districts following reports of militant presence in the area.
Operation in Tanak District
According to ISPR, security forces launched an intelligence‑driven operation in Tanak after receiving credible information about militant activity. Troops engaged the suspects in a fierce exchange of fire, resulting in the killing of seven militants. Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the site.
Operation in Lakki Marwat
In a separate operation in Lakki Marwat district, security forces confronted militants in another gun battle. Two more militants were killed during the clash. Arms and explosives were seized, which ISPR said were intended for attacks against security forces, law enforcement agencies, and civilians.
ISPR Statement
The military’s media wing stated that the militants were operating under foreign specifically Indian sponsorship. ISPR emphasized that the group had been involved in multiple terrorist activities, including targeting innocent civilians and carrying out attacks against security personnel.
Continuing Search Operations
Security forces have launched further search operations in the surrounding areas to eliminate any remaining threats. ISPR reiterated its commitment to ensuring peace and stability in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and across Pakistan.
