2,792 Polling Stations Active for By‑Elections Nationwide
Election authorities confirmed that polling started at 8 am and will continue until 5 pm. Voters are casting their ballots at designated centers in Haripur, Lahore, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Dera Ghazi Khan, Sargodha, Mianwali, and Muzaffargarh. A total of 2,792 polling stations have been established, of which 408 have been declared highly sensitive and 1,032 sensitive. To ensure law and order, more than 20,000 security personnel have been deployed nationwide.
NA‑18 Haripur
Nine candidates are contesting the Haripur seat. A close fight is anticipated between PTI‑backed independent candidate Shahrnaz, PML‑N’s Babar Nawaz Khan, and PPP’s Irum Fatima. This constituency fell vacant following the conviction and disqualification of PTI leader Omar Ayub in the May 9 case.
NA‑96 Faisalabad
In Faisalabad’s NA‑96, sixteen candidates are in the race. PML‑N’s Talal Badar Chaudhry faces fifteen independent contenders. The seat became vacant after the disqualification of PTI’s Rai Haider Ali Kharal.
NA‑104 Faisalabad
Another Faisalabad constituency, NA‑104, is witnessing a contest between PML‑N’s Raja Daniyal and four independent candidates. This seat was vacated after the conviction of Sunni Ittehad Council Chairman Hamid Raza in the May 9 case.
NA‑185 Dera Ghazi Khan
Eight candidates are competing in Dera Ghazi Khan’s NA‑185. A tough contest is expected between PML‑N’s Mehmood Qadir Leghari and PPP’s Sardar Dost Muhammad Khosa. The seat fell vacant after the conviction and disqualification of PTI’s Zartaj Gul Wazir in the May 9 case.
