Pakistani Forces in Gaza ‘Would Be a Blessing’: Rana Sanaullah

ISLAMABAD — Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs, Rana Sanaullah, has expressed that Pakistan would welcome the opportunity to contribute to peace efforts in Gaza, though he emphasized that no formal request has been made to Islamabad so far.

Speaking on a private television program on Monday night, Sanaullah was asked about reports suggesting that Pakistani troops might be included in an International Stabilization Force (ISF) under a proposed Gaza peace plan. The plan, reported by The Times of Israel, is linked to a 20‑point initiative announced by U.S. President Donald Trump, which envisions a temporary multinational force to stabilize Gaza and support vetted Palestinian police units.

In response, Sanaullah said:

“If Pakistan’s forces get a chance to establish peace there, I don’t think anything could be better.” He added that any role in protecting Palestinians and enforcing peace would be considered a “blessing” for Pakistan.

At the same time, he clarified that his remarks reflected his personal opinion, and that he had no official information about whether Pakistan had been approached to join the ISF.

Sanaullah also noted that Pakistan is among the eight countries that have voiced support for the principle of establishing peace in Gaza, ensuring that a stabilization force manages security, and calling for the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the territory.

The proposed ISF, according to reports, would be formed in partnership with Arab and other international allies, with the aim of providing training, security, and humanitarian support in Gaza.

While no official decision has been announced by Islamabad, Sanaullah’s comments highlight Pakistan’s longstanding position of supporting the Palestinian cause and its willingness to play a constructive role in international peacekeeping efforts if called upon.
