Pakistan, Poland vow to expand political and economic partnership: President Zardari
ISLAMABAD, Oct 24 — President Asif Ali Zardari on Friday emphasized Pakistan’s determination to broaden its partnership with Poland, particularly in the fields of politics, economy, and culture.
The President made these remarks while welcoming Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski at Aiwan-e-Sadr. The visiting dignitary was accompanied by Poland’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Maciej Pisarski, and senior officials including Maciej Duszczyk, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Interior and Administration.
President Zardari noted that Pakistan and Poland share a relationship built on mutual respect and cooperation. He underlined the vast potential for expanding bilateral trade and investment, particularly in renewable energy, information technology, agriculture, and mining. He also invited Polish companies to explore opportunities in Pakistan’s special economic zones.
Highlighting Pakistan’s role in promoting regional peace and connectivity, the President stressed the importance of closer collaboration in education, defence, and people-to-people exchanges. He also appreciated Poland’s support for Pakistan within the European Union and called for continued cooperation on global and regional issues.
Deputy Prime Minister Sikorski expressed Poland’s keen interest in strengthening its partnership with Pakistan, especially in boosting bilateral trade and economic engagement.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Senator Sherry Rehman, Senator Saleem Mandviwalla, and senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
