Paras Warns: ‘Imran Khan Facing Serious Threats Amid Political Turmoil’

Islamabad: Senior journalist Paras Jahanzeb has expressed deep concern in her vlog regarding the threats issued against former Prime Minister Imran Khan. In her latest commentary, she stated that after the 27th Constitutional Amendment, it has practically been acknowledged that Parliament and the judiciary are now fully in the hands of the government — and under the so-called “principle of harmony,” even national heroes are being subdued.

She further highlighted that on the floor of the National Assembly, Railways Minister Hanif Abbasi openly threatened that if Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) does not change its behaviour, it may not be surprising if people end up offering Imran Khan’s funeral prayers before time.

Paras Jahanzeb stressed that had such a threat been issued against any other political leader, multiple legal actions and acts would have already been imposed. However, she lamented that because the matter concerns Imran Khan, “everyone has chosen to remain silent.”

Commenting on recent constitutional changes, she noted that all the amendments appear to have a single objective — to eliminate Imran Khan from the political landscape. The irony, she added, is that Imran Khan is being punished for not eliminating himself in the first place.

The concerns raised by Paras Jahanzeb highlight the growing unease within Pakistan’s media and political circles. As tensions escalate, the nation watches closely to see how institutions respond to threats made openly on the Assembly floor and what it means for the future of political discourse in the country.
