PTI Rejects Secret Hospital Transfer Of Imran Khan Without Family Consent
- PTI rejects secret hospital transfers for Imran Khan
- Demands personal doctor presence for medical checkups
- Holds government responsible for any health risks
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) has expressed grave concerns regarding reports suggesting a planned secret transfer of party founder Imran Khan to a hospital. Through a statement issued by Central Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram, the party emphasized that any such move without the knowledge and consent of his family would constitute a violation of basic human rights. The party maintains that transparency is essential regarding the former prime minister’s health status during his detention in Adiala Jail.
The party’s official stance highlights that conducting medical examinations or starting treatment without informing Imran Khan’s family or personal physicians violates the Constitution of Pakistan and prison regulations. PTI insists that any medical procedure must be performed under the supervision of trusted doctors recommended by the party and in the presence of at least one family member. They state that the current secrecy surrounding his health is unacceptable and potentially endangers his life during this process.
Sheikh Waqas Akram also noted the delay in written orders from the Supreme Court of Pakistan regarding the medical care of the PTI chairman. Despite two days passing, the absence of these orders has caused further anxiety within the party ranks. PTI had expected immediate judicial intervention on humanitarian grounds to ensure that proper medical facilities are provided to the former prime minister without further delay or administrative hurdles that could impede his recovery.
The statement concludes with a stern warning to the federal and provincial governments, asserting that they will be held fully responsible for any harm to Imran Khan’s health or safety. PTI demands that the government refrain from any unconstitutional actions and immediately facilitate a transparent medical check-up involving independent medical experts. The party reiterates that there will be no compromise on the health of their founding chairman as they continue to monitor the situation closely.
