PTI Leaders Warn Government Over Imran Khan Medical Reports

  • PTI claims Imran Khan lost 85 percent vision in one eye.
  • Leaders warn of public revolt if Khan is not released.
  • Party rejects official medical reports as fabricated and misleading.

The leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) held a high-stakes press conference in Islamabad to address the critical health situation of the party founder, Imran Khan. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, along with senior leaders Salman Akram Raja and Junaid Akbar, conveyed an urgent message to the current administration. They alleged that the former Prime Minister is facing severe medical complications that are being intentionally ignored by the authorities at Adiala Jail. The leaders emphasized that the health and safety of Imran Khan remain the top priority for millions of his followers across the country. According to reports from Express News, the party has formally put the government on notice regarding the potential consequences of any further medical negligence.

Serious Allegations Regarding Medical Negligence in Adiala

During the press briefing, KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi revealed shocking details about the medical treatment provided to Imran Khan. He claimed that a medical report was recently presented which indicates a massive decline in Khan’s health. Afridi stated that the PTI founder was shifted to a hospital and administered injections without the consent or knowledge of his family or personal physicians. The most alarming part of the disclosure involved Khan’s eyesight. The Chief Minister stated that current reports suggest Khan has only 15 percent vision remaining in one eye, describing the situation as a criminal act of negligence. He contrasted this with the treatment provided to other political figures like Nawaz Sharif in the past, noting that judicial and media support seems absent in the case of Imran Khan.

A Stern Warning to the Power Circles

Junaid Akbar, the PTI President for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, delivered a blunt and emotional warning to the government and state institutions. He cautioned that if the party workers decide to take to the streets without waiting for official instructions, the current rulers will find no place to hide. Akbar expressed deep resentment over the treatment of party members, including the registration of FIRs and personal harassment. He argued that such tactics only increase the public’s hatred toward the administration. He specifically called out intelligence agencies, stating that their primary duty should be the protection of the people rather than political engineering. He warned that the leadership is currently holding back the youth, but their patience is running thin.

The Call for Political Reconciliation

Despite the harsh rhetoric, Junaid Akbar extended an olive branch, suggesting a path toward national stability. He urged the authorities to forget past grievances and move forward for the sake of the country. He maintained that Imran Khan possesses a large heart and would be willing to forgive for the greater good of Pakistan. Akbar emphasized that peace in Pakistan is only possible when the country is led by a popular leader who has the genuine backing of the people. He criticized the absence of the Prime Minister and Interior Minister from the National Assembly, claiming they lack the moral authority to lead because they were not truly elected by the public.

Legal Hurdles and Judicial Silence

Salman Akram Raja addressed the legal and systemic challenges surrounding the detention of the PTI founder. He noted that Imran Khan has been suffering from eye issues for three months, yet no adequate treatment was provided. He criticized the sudden transfer of the Adiala Jail Superintendent as a move to cover up the situation once the vision loss became irreversible. Raja lamented the fact that the Islamabad High Court has been unable to resolve pending cases for over a year. He called upon the people of every province to stand up and voice their concerns, as the party believes the judicial system has failed to protect the basic human rights of Pakistan’s most popular political figure.

Upcoming Strategy and Nationwide Response

The PTI leadership concluded the session by announcing that a Core Committee and Parliamentary Committee meeting would be held to finalize a future course of action. They rejected the official medical reports provided to political mediators like Mahmood Khan Achakzai, labeling them as fabricated. The party demanded that Imran Khan be allowed immediate access to doctors of his choice and released from what they termed an ‘illegal’ detention. They warned that the party is currently weighing several options, and a major call for nationwide mobilization could be issued if the government continues to play with the life and health of the PTI founder.
