General Sahir Shamshad Meets Saudi Military Chief, Receives Medal of Honor
Pakistan’s Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza has concluded an official visit to Saudi Arabia, where he held high-level discussions with the Kingdom’s military leadership on strengthening bilateral defense cooperation.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Sahir Shamshad met with General Fayyad bin Hamid Al-Ruwaili, Chief of the Saudi Armed Forces. The meeting focused on the evolving global and regional security environment and explored new opportunities to expand defense collaboration between the two countries.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening the long-standing brotherly relations and enduring defense partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
In recognition of his contributions to enhancing military ties, General Sahir Shamshad was awarded the King Abdulaziz Medal of Honor of the Excellent Class. The award reflects Saudi Arabia’s appreciation of his efforts in promoting cooperation and strengthening the strategic bond between the two nations.
The Saudi military leadership praised the professionalism of the Pakistani armed forces, particularly their role in combating terrorism, and acknowledged the sacrifices made by Pakistan in the fight against extremism.
This visit and honor highlight the continued importance of Pakistan-Saudi defense relations, which remain a cornerstone of regional security and cooperation.
