ISLAMABAD, Nov 7 (RPK): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif left Islamabad on Friday for a two-day official visit to Azerbaijan, where he will participate in the celebrations marking the fifth anniversary of the country’s Victory Day.
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar is accompanying the prime minister on this visit.
During his stay in Baku, Prime Minister Shehbaz is scheduled to hold a meeting with President Ilham Aliyev. The two leaders will review the full spectrum of bilateral relations and explore new opportunities to strengthen cooperation in diverse areas, including trade and investment, energy, defence, education, and regional connectivity.
Pakistan and Azerbaijan share a relationship built on faith, history, culture, and mutual trust. Over the years, the two countries have maintained close collaboration in regional and international platforms such as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), and the United Nations (UN).
The visit is expected to reaffirm Pakistan’s commitment to deepening ties with Azerbaijan and to highlight the importance of regional partnerships in advancing mutual prosperity and stability.
