IPP, MQM-P Delegations Meet PM Shehbaz Over 27th Amendment
Islamabad, Nov 6 — Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday held separate meetings with leaders of the Istehkam‑e‑Pakistan Party (IPP) and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement‑Pakistan (MQM‑P) as part of consultations on the proposed 27th Constitutional Amendment.
In the first meeting, the Prime Minister met IPP President and Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan along with Minister of State for Overseas Pakistanis Aun Chaudhry. They discussed the amendment’s implications for governance and national policy, emphasizing the importance of consensus in moving forward.

Later, a seven‑member MQM‑P delegation led by Convener Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui also called on the Prime Minister. The delegation included Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori, Federal Minister for Health Syed Mustafa Kamal, and National Assembly members Dr. Farooq Sattar, Javed Hanif Khan, Syed Amin‑ul‑Haq, and Khawaja Izhar‑ul‑Hassan. The MQM‑P leaders exchanged views with the Prime Minister on the amendment and broader political developments.
Both meetings were attended by senior government officials and parliamentary leaders, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar, Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, and Advisor to the Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah.
The consultations highlighted the government’s effort to engage coalition partners and key stakeholders in shaping constitutional reforms. By bringing together diverse political voices, the leadership underscored its commitment to stability, inclusivity, and consensus in advancing the 27th Amendment.
