South Africa Beat Pakistan by 8 Wickets in Second ODI
Faisalabad: South Africa defeated Pakistan by eight wickets in the second One-Day International at Iqbal Stadium. The visitors chased Pakistan’s score of 269 runs in just 41 overs, finishing at 271 for 2.
Quinton de Kock played a brilliant innings, scoring 123 not out. Tony de Zorzi added 76 runs, while Luan-Dre Pretorius made 46. Captain Matthew Britzke stayed unbeaten with 17 runs.
For Pakistan, Mohammad Wasim Jr. and Faheem Ashraf took one wicket each, but the bowling attack could not stop South Africa’s strong batting.
Earlier, Pakistan batted first after winning the toss and made 269 runs for 9 wickets. Salman Agha scored 69, Mohammad Nawaz 59, and Saim Ayub 53. Other batsmen struggled — Babar Azam made 11, Fakhar Zaman was out for 0, and Mohammad Rizwan scored only 4. Shaheen Shah Afridi added 1 run, while Mohammad Wasim Jr. scored 12 and Naseem Shah stayed not out with 6.
South Africa’s bowlers kept Pakistan under pressure. Nandre Berger took 4 wickets, Naqvimzi Peter grabbed 3, and Corbin Bush picked up 2.
With this win, South Africa now lead the ODI series, while Pakistan will need to fight back in the next matches
