Fearless Mother, Relentless Lawyer: Kajol Returns in The Trial Season 2

The wait is over for fans of gripping courtroom drama as Kajol returns in the second season of The Trial. The newly released trailer offers a tense, emotionally charged glimpse into Naina Sen Gupta’s world, a place where legal strategy, political games and personal heartbreak intertwine. The opening scene is striking as Naina smashes a framed photograph of herself with her husband Rajeev, a moment that instantly signals the emotional fractures at the heart of the story.

This time, Naina’s challenges are more layered than ever. In the courtroom, she continues to take on high pressure cases with her trademark precision and fearlessness. Outside of it, her marriage to Rajeev, played by Jisshu Sengupta, is crumbling under the weight of mistrust and betrayal. Rajeev’s leap into politics only intensifies the tension as old scandals resurface and threaten to derail both his campaign and their already fragile relationship. The political arena becomes a dangerous extension of their personal conflict with every revelation carrying consequences for their careers and their family.

The stakes turn personal when their daughter becomes caught in the crossfire of political rivalries and is rushed to the hospital. This moment transforms Naina from a determined lawyer into a mother on a mission, ready to confront anyone, even the most powerful figures, to protect her child. The trailer builds to a charged face off between Naina and a prominent politician, hinting at the fierce battles ahead.

Directed by Umesh Bist and produced by Banijay Asia, The Trial Season 2 will premiere on 19 September.
