US President Donald Trump has issued a fiery ultimatum to the Iranian government, warning that the United States is ready to step in if the regime continues its harsh crackdown, including the alleged killing of peaceful demonstrators. The warning comes amid escalating anti-government protests across several Iranian cities, primarily triggered by severe economic hardship and soaring inflation.
Speaking on his social media platform, Truth Social, President Trump stated clearly that if Iran persists in its “tradition” of shooting and killing peaceful protesters, the US would “come to their aid.” He emphasized the seriousness of the situation, adding a direct threat: “We are ready for action.” This message marks a significant escalation in rhetoric, placing the US in direct opposition to Tehran’s domestic security operations.
The White House is not alone in its concern. The US Department of State also weighed in earlier, expressing deep distress over reports and videos showing peaceful Iranian demonstrators facing threats, violence, and mass arrests. The Department affirmed that demanding fundamental rights is not a crime and called upon the Islamic Republic of Iran to respect the rights of its people and immediately cease all acts of oppression.
