Domestic Worker’s Abuse Case Sparks Outrage in Twin Cities
Survivor’s Harrowing Testimony
ISLAMABAD: A shocking case of abuse has surfaced from Islamabad and Rawalpindi after a young domestic worker publicly accused a local salon owner and her husband of torture, forced confinement, and humiliation. In a video statement posted on social media, the visibly distressed survivor alleged that Sana, a salon owner, and her husband Arman forcibly took her to their apartment, cut her hair against her will, and subjected her to repeated violence.
Abuse Recorded and Circulated
According to the survivor, the ordeal continued when she was moved to a spa in Bahria Town, where the couple allegedly assaulted her in front of four other individuals. Videos of the abuse were reportedly recorded and later circulated online, intensifying public outrage and drawing immediate attention from authorities.
Police Action After Viral Video
Rawalpindi Police confirmed that the incident came to their notice after the survivor’s video went viral. Officials revealed that the assault and forced haircut had taken place nearly six weeks earlier across locations in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Acting on the testimony, police arrested three suspects and registered a case at Naseerabad Police Station.
City Police Officer Syed Khalid Hamdani stated that although the matter had not been reported earlier, authorities took swift action once the video surfaced. He emphasized that the provincial government under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif maintains a zero‑tolerance policy toward crimes involving violence and exploitation of women.
