Young Domestic Worker Brutalized in Islamabad; Viral Video Prompts Police Action
Islamabad—A disturbing case of physical abuse, forced confinement, and public humiliation has emerged from the twin cities, after a young domestic worker went public with a harrowing account of torture allegedly inflicted by a salon owner and her husband.
The survivor, appearing visibly shaken in her social media statement, claimed that Sana—a local salon owner—and her husband Arman forcibly took her from her home and transported her to their private apartment. There, she says, they cut her hair against her will and subjected her to repeated violence.
Her ordeal, however, did not end inside that apartment. According to her testimony, Sana and Arman then moved her to a spa located in Bahria Town. Inside that facility, she says, the beating continued—this time in front of four additional individuals. The group allegedly recorded videos of the abuse and later circulated them online, compounding the humiliation and sparking widespread outrage.
The survivor eventually turned to social media for help, tagging authorities and pleading for immediate protection. Her video message quickly gained traction, drawing public attention, media coverage, and the intervention of law-enforcement agencies.
Police Step In After Video Surfaces
The Rawalpindi Police, in a statement issued on social media, confirmed that the incident came to their notice after the victim’s video went viral. Officials revealed that the assault and the forced haircut reportedly took place about six weeks earlier, spanning locations in both Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
As soon as authorities received information about the incident—particularly the detail that the girl’s hair had been cut as part of the abuse—they initiated formal action.
According to the police, three suspects have been taken into custody based on the victim’s account. Legal proceedings have been initiated at Naseerabad Police Station, where the case is now being pursued in coordination with the survivor.
City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi, Syed Khalid Hamdani, stated that the matter had not been reported earlier, but the police took immediate notice of the video and reached out to the victim. He reiterated the provincial government’s zero-tolerance stance under Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
Government’s Zero-Tolerance Policy Reaffirmed
CPO Hamdani emphasized that crimes involving violence, coercion, and exploitation of women will not be tolerated under any circumstances. He vowed that every individual involved in the incident—whether directly responsible or complicit—will be arrested and brought to justice.
“Such acts of cruelty will face the full force of the law,” he said, assuring the public that the investigation is moving swiftly and that the survivor will receive protection and support throughout the legal process.
