Zia Zulfiqar Urges Public Not to Drag Aroob Into Ducky Bhai Case
Karachi: Zia Zulfiqar, brother of Ducky Bhai who is facing cases linked to betting apps, has released a video message. He said that his family, especially his sister‑in‑law and mother, has gone through severe mental stress and asked that Aroob not be dragged into the issue.
Zia explained that false news was spread on social media claiming Saad would be jailed for seven years and fined Rs 15 million. He said when he met Saad in jail, Saad was crying for two days and said the case was not that serious. Saad has now been in jail for three months, including 22 days on physical remand.
He added that the case has deeply affected the whole family, especially the women. During this time, many reporters and social media pages shared both true and false information.
Zia said their legal action against NCCI is not only for personal reasons but also for others who have suffered blackmail. He described how he speaks to Ducky Bhai through a glass partition in jail and learned that many prisoners are also victims of blackmail.
He noted that his family is fortunate to afford lawyer fees and travel costs, while many prisoners are too poor to get proper legal help.
Zia clarified that NCCI as an institution is not corrupt, but some people misused their powers. He praised FIA Anti‑Corruption for cooperating and supporting them.
Finally, he advised the public that if any government official tries to blackmail them, they should go to the Anti‑Corruption Circle with evidence. He said their trust in the system has been restored because of the FIA Anti‑Corruption Cell.
