Samina Pasha Criticizes ‘Fake Pakistani Intellectuals’ for Hypocrisy
Islamabad — Journalist Samina Pasha has issued a sharp critique of what she terms “fake Pakistani intellectuals,” accusing them of “duplicity” and applying blatant double standards.
In a commentary posted on social media (Source: @pasha_samina) while observing the New York Mayor’s election, Pasha highlighted a series of contradictions she perceives in their analysis.
“Look at the duplicity of fake Pakistani intellectuals,” Pasha wrote. “They rejoice at the choices of young people in other countries but call the youth of their own country a ‘cult’.”

Pasha continued by contrasting their views on elections and political dissent:
“Over there (abroad), they are happy if someone wins against the powerful through votes, but here (in Pakistan), they present justifications for vote theft.”
“If someone challenges the system there, it is hailed as ‘awareness’ and ‘consciousness’,” she added. “But here, our youth are dismissed as ‘misguided’ and ‘rude’.”
