KPK CM Sohail Afridi Approves Huge Rs 13 Billion Ramadan Relief
- Rs 12,500 cash grant for one million deserving families.
- Total budget of 13 billion rupees approved for relief.
- Funds will be transferred directly to beneficiaries bank accounts.
CM Directs Transparency
According to Urdu News, Chief Minister Sohail Afridi stated that the primary objective of the Ramadan package is to provide immediate relief to low-income citizens affected by high prices. He emphasized that the distribution must be completed without any delay or bureaucratic hurdles. The Chief Minister has also issued strict directives to all relevant authorities to monitor the process closely and maintain absolute transparency during the disbursement phase.
Increased Cash Grants
Special Assistant to the CM on Information, Shafi Jan, revealed that the cash amount has been increased from 10,000 rupees last year to 12,500 rupees this year. The provincial government has allocated approximately 13 billion rupees for this welfare drive, which will benefit nearly 1,116,394 individuals. The distribution has already commenced, and the government aims to transfer all funds into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries within the first ten days of Ramadan.
District Distribution Strategy
The distribution plan highlights Peshawar as the top beneficiary district with 108,500 individuals, followed by Swat, Mardan, and Charsadda. While widows, orphans, and persons with disabilities are categorized as eligible, temporarily displaced persons (IDPs) will not be part of this specific package. However, some citizens have expressed concerns regarding the selection process, as local political representatives have been tasked with identifying and submitting names for the relief list.
