Terrorists martyred three Frontier Corps (FC) personnel in a coordinated dual-stage attack in the Karak district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The assault began with a drone strike on a security fort and escalated into a lethal ambush on medical evacuation vehicles.

Advanced Drone Strike on FC Fort

According to Express News, the initial phase of the terror activity occurred in the Bahadur Khel area within the jurisdiction of Khurram Muhammad Zai police station. Militants from the proscribed Fitna al-Khawarij group utilized a quadcopter drone to target an FC fort located near Darga Shaheedan, resulting in injuries to five security officials.

Ambulance Convoy Targeted in Ambush

District Police Officer (DPO) Karak, Saud Khan, reported that the situation turned even more tragic during the medical evacuation process. As ambulances were transporting the injured personnel to a healthcare facility, terrorists lying in wait launched a secondary ambush on the moving convoy.

Fatalities and Deliberate Arson

The attackers opened heavy fire on the ambulances and subsequently set the vehicles ablaze while the injured personnel were still inside. This heinous act resulted in the martyrdom of three brave FC officials who could not escape the burning vehicles or succumbed to gunshot wounds during the assault.

Medical Response and Rescue Efforts

The DPO further clarified that the terrorists also targeted Rescue 1122 personnel who were attempting to provide life-saving assistance at the scene. Despite the intense danger, the remaining injured officials were successfully shifted to the Khalifa Gul Nawaz Hospital in Bannu for urgent medical treatment.

Security Clearance and Search Operation

Following the attack, a large-scale security operation was initiated to secure the region and track down the fleeing militants. Law enforcement agencies have since cleared the area of Bahadur Khel, while high-alert protocols remain in place across the district to prevent further incursions.

Commitment to National Defense

The local administration and security forces have expressed a firm resolve to eliminate the remnants of terrorism in the region. This incident highlights the evolving tactical threats faced by frontline troops, as militants increasingly adopt drone technology to conduct surveillance and carry out localized strikes against state installations.
