ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has welcomed U.S. President Donald Trump’s 20-point plan aimed at ensuring an end to the ongoing war in Gaza.
In a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the Prime Minister stated: “I also firmly believe that sustainable peace between the people of Palestine and Israel will be indispensable to bring political stability and economic prosperity in the region.”
According to his official account, Sharif further expressed confidence in Trump’s commitment, writing: “It is also my firm belief that President Trump is fully prepared to extend all possible assistance in making this extremely important and urgent reconciliation a reality. I appreciate President Trump’s leadership and the significant role of Special Envoy Steve Witkoff in ending this war.”
The Prime Minister also reiterated Pakistan’s long-standing stance on Palestine, adding: “I also firmly believe that implementation of the two-state solution is essential to ensure lasting peace in the region.”
Sharif’s remarks, first shared on X, reflect Pakistan’s support for international efforts seeking to halt the Gaza conflict and move toward a broader political settlement between Israel and Palestine.
