Maryam vs. Bilawal: PML-N and PPP’s New-Gen Political Clash Begins

ISLAMABAD – A new generation political battle has erupted between the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), with Maryam Nawaz Sharif and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari now at the forefront. This is the observation of veteran journalist Kamran Khan, who detailed the brewing conflict in a special vlog for Nukta Pakistan.

According to Khan, the political rivalry, once defined by clashes between Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari, has now descended to their successors. “Maryam Nawaz Sharif versus Bilawal Bhutto Zardari – Pakistan’s two major political parties are once again face-to-face,” Khan stated in his vlog.

The political tensions are reportedly playing out openly, with accusations being traded over issues ranging from governance in Punjab and Sindh to the distribution of relief funds. Khan emphasized the critical nature of this rivalry for the incumbent government led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

“This conflict is a wake-up call for Shehbaz Sharif’s government, because without the parliamentary support of the Pakistan Peoples Party, this government cannot last even a few days,” Khan warned.

He concluded his commentary by raising a poignant question, suggesting a potential return to a tumultuous era: “Are the political wars of the 90s making a comeback?”
