Lahore (Republic Pk) The Lahore High Court has dismissed the appeals against the death sentence of convicts Abid Ali and Shafqat alias Bagga in the Lahore Motorway rape case.
The decision said that the statement of the victim in the rape case contains important evidence, the DNA report proves the guilt of convict Abid Ali, blood samples found in the vehicle matched the DNA of the convict, forensic evidence strengthened the prosecution’s case.
The decision further said that both the convicts were correctly identified in the identification parade, the convicts forcibly removed the woman and children from the vehicle, the crime was extremely serious and frightening to the society, no concession can be given to the convicts in the gang rape case.
The court decision stated that the DNA, medical and forensic evidence proved the crime. The Lahore High Court upheld the death sentence of the convicts. Justice Shahbaz Ali and Justice Tariq Mahmood issued a written decision.
