KFUEIT Hosts Women Business Expo to Promote Entrepreneurship and Economic Empowerment

Rahim Yar Khan: Taking a practical step towards women empowerment, the Women Development Department Punjab organized a Women Business Expo at Khwaja Fareed University of Engineering & Information Technology (KFUEIT), Rahim Yar Khan, in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce & Industries.
The expo was inaugurated by the Worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ir. Dr. Amir Azam Khan, along with President Chamber of Commerce & Industries, Waleed Ahmed, and other distinguished guests. The event provided a vibrant platform for entrepreneurial and skilled women from across the district to showcase their talents and small-scale businesses.
Addressing the participants, Prof. Ir. Dr. Amir Azam Khan emphasized that KFUEIT is committed to taking concrete initiatives for women’s empowerment. He stated that the university fully supports women entrepreneurs, particularly female students, by promoting their skills and creative abilities through all available platforms. He appreciated the quality of work displayed at the stalls and personally visited each one, encouraging the participants for their dedication and innovation.
President Chamber of Commerce & Industries, Waleed Ahmed, praised the initiative and highlighted the vital role of women in strengthening the local economy. He remarked that such expos create opportunities for women to transform their talents into sustainable businesses and assured continued support from the business community to promote entrepreneurship in the region.
Madam Aniqa Azam also addressed the audience and elaborated on the importance of providing financial independence and market access to women. She stated that empowering women entrepreneurs not only improves household livelihoods but also contributes significantly to the overall economic growth of the country. She appreciated the efforts of the university and the Women Development Department for creating such meaningful opportunities.
The event was organized by Dr. Sidra Ghazanfar, Focal Person of the Women Development Department, who played a key role in coordinating the expo and facilitating participation of women entrepreneurs from across the district.
A total of 52 stalls were set up by women entrepreneurs and skilled workers operating with limited resources, which attracted significant interest from visitors. Participants expressed that this initiative of the Government of Punjab, under the leadership of the Chief Minister, would prove to be a milestone in promoting economic development and self-reliance among women. They stressed that such empowering activities should continue regularly.
