According to Greek media, the incident occurred during a flight of the European airline Ryan air when a piece of debris from one of the plane’s engines hit the window during the flight, causing the window to separate from its place in mid-air.
Eyewitnesses and officials have confirmed the incident and said that the passenger who goes out of the window during the flight was pulled back inside by other passengers.
According to authorities, the affected passenger of the plane is a tourist from Serbia, who was on a flight from the Greek city of Thessaloniki to the German city of Memmingen.
Speaking to Radio Thessaloniki, a female passenger said that most of us were sleeping when suddenly there was a loud explosion, like the sound of a tire bursting.
She said that we immediately realized that the plane had a decompression problem. According to the female passenger, there was screaming everywhere, for a moment I thought that someone had accidentally opened the emergency door.
She said that the oxygen masks came down and a strong smell spread inside the plane, one passenger’s head and shoulders were outside the window, fortunately he was wearing his seat belt, other people sitting near the affected passenger immediately pulled him back inside.

According to Greek media, Ryanair said in a statement that the flight turned back to Thessaloniki shortly after takeoff when a passenger’s window came loose during the flight. The airline said the plane landed safely as normal and all passengers returned to the terminal.
An alternative plane was later arranged to take the passengers to Memmingen, according to the airline.
