Rawalpindi Stadium to Turn Pink for Pakistan–South Africa T20I

Rawalpindi, 24 October 2025 – The Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium is set to wear a different look on 28 October when Pakistan face South Africa in the opening T20I of their three-match series. The ground, the players, and even the stumps will turn pink as part of a nationwide effort to raise awareness about breast cancer.

The initiative, led by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in collaboration with Pink Ribbon Pakistan, falls under the global #PINKtober campaign. To mark the occasion, the Pakistan team will don specially designed pink-themed kits, while the visiting South African side and match officials will wear pink ribbons in solidarity. Coaching staff, commentators, and broadcasters will also join the effort by wearing ribbons and sharing awareness messages throughout the live coverage.

Adding to the symbolism, the stumps for the Rawalpindi clash will be branded in pink. Beyond the stadium, the Pink Ribbon Breast Cancer Trust Hospital in Lahore has announced free clinical examinations and screenings for visitors on the same day, underlining the campaign’s focus on early detection.

PCB Chief Operating Officer Sumair Ahmed Syed said the board was proud to use cricket’s influence for a life-saving cause.

“Through the Pink Ribbon campaign, we aim to highlight the importance of early detection and regular screening for breast cancer, which can save countless lives,” he noted.

Pink Ribbon CEO Umar Aftab echoed the sentiment, calling the collaboration a powerful example of sport uniting the nation.

“Cricket unites our nation, and today, it’s uniting us for a life-saving cause,” he said.

As the players prepare for the high-voltage clash, the spotlight will shine just as brightly on the message behind it: awareness, solidarity, and the hope of saving lives through timely action.
