Babar Awan: Imran Khan’s Assembly Exit Was the Right Move

Islamabad: Former federal law minister Babar Awan has described Imran Khan’s decision to resign from assemblies as the right step, arguing that it was better than lending credibility to what he termed a “fake system.”

Commenting on the recent resignations of Justices Athar Minallah and Mansoor Ali Shah, Awan said the move reflected rejection of a system mired in disputes and controversies. He congratulated the judges for their stance, while reiterating that Khan’s earlier decision to step away from assemblies was a thousand times better than endorsing a disputed framework.

Awan’s remarks, shared on social media, quickly drew attention in political circles, highlighting ongoing debates about institutional credibility and the role of resignations in shaping Pakistan’s political landscape.
