Imaan Mazari Sees ‘Hope’ in Judges’ Resignations

Islamabad: Lawyer and activist Imaan Mazari has described the resignations of Supreme Court judges Mansoor Ali Shah and Athar Minallah as a sign of hope for the country.

Reacting to the recent constitutional developments, Mazari said that the existing system cannot be reformed from within, pointing to the 26th Amendment as proof that attempts to bring change have repeatedly failed.

She stressed that the people of Pakistan will not silently accept attacks on their constitution. “We will resist. We must resist,” she declared in her statement shared on social media.

Mazari’s remarks highlight growing political and legal debate over the implications of the amendment and the broader question of institutional credibility.
