Hollywood is gearing up for a busy January 2026, with five major films scheduled across horror, action, thriller, and survival drama genres. From Blumhouse’s chilling Soulm8te to Lionsgate’s postapocalyptic Greenland 2: Migration, audiences will have plenty to choose from as the new year begins.

Soulm8te (January 2, 2026)

Blumhouse expands its horror universe with Soulm8te, a spinoff of the popular M3GAN franchise. Directed by Kate Dolan and coproduced by James Wan, the film stars Lily Sullivan as a lifelike AI doll who bonds with David Rysdahl’s grieving character. Claudia Doumit (The Boys) also joins the cast, adding intrigue to this scifi horror release.

Greenland 2: Migration (January 9, 2026)

Gerard Butler and Morena Baccarin return in Greenland 2: Migration, directed by Ric Roman Waugh. The sequel follows the Garrity family as they leave their bunker to face a devastated world. Lionsgate confirmed the release date for January 9, promising another tense survival drama.

28 Years Later: The Bone Temple (January 16, 2026)

The longrunning franchise continues with 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, directed by Nia DaCosta. Ralph Fiennes, Alfie Williams, and Jack O’Connell lead the cast, while original star Cillian Murphy serves as producer. Fans anticipate a chilling continuation of the saga that began in 2002.

The Rip (January 16, 2026)

Netflix brings Matt Damon and Ben Affleck together in The Rip, directed by Joe Carnahan. The crime thriller follows Miami police officers who discover a hidden fortune, sparking internal conflict and external threats. The film was first revealed at Netflix’s TUDUM 2025 event.

Send Help (January 30, 2026)

Closing out the month, Sam Raimi directs Send Help, starring Rachel McAdams and Dylan O’Brien. The survival drama tells the story of two coworkers stranded on an isolated island after a plane crash, forced to navigate both danger and their strained relationship.
