PAF Successfully Tests Indigenously Developed Taimoor Cruise Missile System

The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has successfully completed the flight testing of its indigenously designed and built Taimoor weapon system, marking a significant advancement in the nation’s strategic air defense capabilities. Accordibg to ISPR the system, officially identified as an Air-Launched Cruise Missile (ALCM), demonstrates Pakistan’s commitment to achieving self-reliance in critical defense technology.

According to technical specifications released by the military’s media wing, the Taimoor ALCM possesses the operational capacity to engage targets on both land and sea up to an impressive range of 600 kilometers. A key characteristic of the missile is its ability to fly at extremely low altitudes, allowing it to effectively bypass or evade hostile air defense and missile interception systems. Furthermore, the missile utilizes advanced guidance and navigation suites, ensuring precision targeting during its long-range deployment.

The critical test flight was witnessed by a gathering of senior officers from the armed forces and eminent scientists and engineers responsible for the project. Following the successful trajectory and impact, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu, Chief of Air Staff, extended his heartfelt congratulations to the entire technical team, acknowledging their hard work and professional expertise.

The political leadership swiftly lauded the achievement. President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif both issued statements celebrating the PAF’s milestone on Saturday.
